In this role, you have the opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our medical devices by automating rigorous hardware and system verification tests. You will work on innovative test solutions from the proof of concept phase to manufacturing. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of systems engineering principles, LabVIEW, and Python programming languages, as well as an understanding of regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a structured approach to developing test automation solutions for both Design Verification and End-of-Line production test equipment.
You are responsible for:
Software development for Automated Test Equipment (ATE), test setups, and tools, primarily using LabVIEW and Python.
Helping to select instrumentation to realize these projects.
Maintenance of existing ATE projects.
Preparing technical documents and presentations as required.
Making test strategies, protocols, and plans.
Acting as a Senior LabVIEW Test Automation Engineer for our customers, who are mostly internal R&D and manufacturing teams at Philips.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled technical specialists working on innovative automated test solution projects. These projects can cover every phase of the product life cycle, from proof of concept all the way to manufacturing. In your role, you will work together with test and software architects and other Test & Verification Engineers from within our own organization as well as from our customers’ organizations.
To succeed in this role, we are looking for a Test Engineer with the following characteristics:
Bachelor or Master degree in one of the following: Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Robotics & Automation engineering.
Minimum of 4 years of professional software development experience, ideally in a test automation or related field.
Significant professional experience with LabVIEW and a proven track record of creating high-quality software without much assistance.
Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or Architect (CLA) certifications are a major plus.
Good exposure to other programming languages, preferably Python is a plus
Experience with AI/Machine Learning solutions in the Test & Verification / Test automation domain is a plus
Experience in using typical test & measurement hardware like function generators, multimeters, power supplies, industrial sensors, etc.
Experience in typical industrial interfaces/technologies like ethernet, UDP, TCPIP, RS232, RS485, MODBUS, CAN, etc.
Good to have
Knowledge of Machine Vision strategies, AI applications in test automation.
Experience with NI Hardware like cDAQ, cRIO.
Good understanding of product development and design verification process of industrial products, especially in the medical domain.
Knowledge of medical device regulations and standards (e.g., IEC 60601-1, EU-MDR, FDA cGMP).
Knowledge to understand electric wiring diagrams.
Exposure to Requirements analysis, Traceability Matrix, and Risk Management.
Affinity with Systems engineering and Requirement engineering is a plus.
Understanding of embedded architecture and hardware interfaces.
