The role will contribute to advancing Philips' global Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) technology and provide high-quality electronic design solutions across various Philips Innovation Centers.

As a PCBA Layout Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in electronic design engineering and PCBA layout technology to develop new PCBAs, migrate legacy designs, and collaborate with global engineering teams to deliver robust and reliable designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Migrate legacy PCBAs and design new PCBAs using the Mentor Graphics Xpedition Enterprise platform.

  • Create complete electronic design packages, including schematics, PCB layouts, Technical Product Documentation (TPD), and manufacturing documentation.

  • Ensure the integrity and consistency of schematic diagrams, PCB layout files, and associated design data.

  • Collaborate with circuit/functional designers and mechanical designers to address electrical, mechanical, and physical design constraints.

  • Organize and participate in design review meetings and drive resolution of design-related issues.

  • Coordinate with CAD-E Library Engineers to ensure the availability and accuracy of required components and library elements.

  • Work closely with design engineers, suppliers, and customers to understand requirements and deliver appropriate design solutions.

  • Follow established development processes, design guidelines, and industry standards to ensure product quality and reliability.

  • Implement signal integrity and power integrity requirements within PCB designs.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, and industry-specific requirements.

  • Support PCB/PCBA suppliers by providing accurate and complete design and manufacturing documentation.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of PCB/PCBA design processes, standards, and methodologies.

You're the Right Fit If
  • Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc.) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 4–5 years of hands-on experience in PCBA physical design, including:

    • Design constraint definition

    • Component placement

    • Routing

    • Panel design

    • Technical product documentation

  • 4–5 years of hands-on experience with Mentor Graphics Xpedition Enterprise is mandatory.

  • Strong knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical components.

  • Experience with Valor NPI, CAM350, or similar tools is preferred.

  • Experience with Mentor EDM is preferred.

  • Good understanding of industry standards and regulations such as RoHS, REACH, and IPC.

  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, PCB manufacturing, and design-for-manufacturing principles is an advantage.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and design skills.
