Job Title: PCBA CAD Library Engineer

Your ChallengeAre you excited about playing a key role in strengthening and shaping the PCBA Library Creation team within Philips? This role provides an opportunity to contribute to the development and maintenance of the global PCBA CAD library and support Philips businesses worldwide.

As a PCBA CAD Library Engineer, you will support Philips businesses globally by managing PCBA CAD-E library creation and maintenance, as well as registering standard components in the Windchill PLM system.

Team Responsibilities

The PCBA Library Creation team supports Philips businesses by delivering high-quality CAD-E components through:

  • Creation, update, maintenance, and verification of PCBA library data in Philips databases

  • Supporting increasing demand for PCBA CAD-E library requests and component releases

  • Providing technical support for 3D model creation and integration into the PCBA library

  • Contributing to improvements in library creation processes and ways of working

  • Supporting global Philips teams involved in PCBA development

  • Assisting with standard part data registration in the Windchill PLM system during peak workloads

Key Responsibilities

As a PCBA Library Engineer, you will:

  • Process PCBA part requests following Philips workflow procedures

  • Create schematic symbols, footprints (cells), 3D models, and part mappings according to established standards using approved toolsets (Mentor Graphics Xpedition)

  • Validate part requests and communicate with requesters if additional information or clarification is needed

  • Upload created components to DMS, verify accuracy, and release them into the library

  • Understand and follow PCBA CAD-E library creation processes and standards

  • Verify deliverables associated with part requests

  • Support standard part registration in PTC Windchill during peak team workloads

Your Team

Philips Innovation and Design is a global organization within Philips HealthTech, consisting of approximately 1,000 professionals specializing in consulting, engineering, and innovation services.

You will be part of the Electronic Design Services (EDS) group within the Quality and Reliability Engineering department. The EDS team includes around 50 highly skilled professionals focused on electronic design services and operates across The Netherlands, India, and the United States.

This position will be based in the Bangalore team.

The EDS group plays a critical role in establishing and leading Philips’ global Electronic Design Platform, including:

  • Schematics and PCBA design technologies

  • Global e-Component Management services

  • PCBA design and fast prototyping services for internal and external customers

Your primary stakeholders will be Philips businesses located across the globe.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics

  • Strong knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical components

  • Proven experience in PCBA CAD-E library creation

  • Understanding of IEEE, ANSI, IPC, and JEDEC standards for schematic symbols and PCBA footprints

  • Hands-on expertise with Mentor Graphics Xpedition tools, including:

    • Library Manager

    • DxDesigner

    • DMS

    • 3D Model Interface

    • Cell Editor

  • 3–4 years of experience in electronic and electro-mechanical component creation and maintenance

  • Experience in 3D model creation (experience with Creo is an advantage)

  • Familiarity with component management processes and part data registration in PTC Windchill

  • Proactive mindset with a “can-do” attitude and strong teamwork skills

  • Ability to work in a structured and quality-focused manner

  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple technical disciplines

Business Need

Support the PCBA Platform Program by providing engineering capacity for component information registration in Windchill. This requirement is covered in the 2026 Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
